FAQ
Questions you may have
Buying
Where can I buy Hibot S50?
Our online store is coming soon. Stay tuned.
What colors are there?
Hibot S50 comes in Starry Black, Glacier White and Sunglow Orange.
Voice requests
Can I listen to music without an internet connection?
Yes. Regular microSD playback doesn’t need a network. microSD voice requests also work when your phone is offline, but your phone needs to be connected to the speaker via Bluetooth with the Hibot app running in the background.
Is online requesting a voice assistant built into the speaker?
No. Holding the Hibot button for about 2 seconds quickly wakes your phone’s own voice assistant. Your phone and your music app take care of the request, so your phone needs to be online.
Which languages can I use for voice requests?
Online requests go through your phone’s voice assistant, so they work in the languages your assistant supports. microSD voice requests currently recognize Chinese song titles spoken in Mandarin; more languages are planned.
Do song files need to meet any requirements for microSD requests?
Save songs that play normally to the microSD card, connect your phone and scan the library in the Hibot app, then double-press the Hibot button and say the song or artist.
- Name files “Artist - Title.extension”, and check the title and artist tags in each song.
- Keep songs in the root folder, with no more than 10,000 tracks, for the best experience.
- Renaming the file extension does not convert the audio format.
Does wind or noise outdoors affect recognition?
It can. Stay close to the speaker’s microphone, avoid direct wind, and say the song or artist clearly in a quieter spot. If it doesn’t catch it, move a little and try again.
Connections and Party mode
I can’t find the speaker or it won’t connect. What should I do?
Try these steps in order:
- Press the Bluetooth button, then search and connect again in your phone’s Bluetooth settings;
- Hold the Bluetooth button for about 5 seconds, then search and connect again;
- Restore factory settings (hold Power + Play for about 5 seconds) and reconnect.
If that doesn’t help, contact us and tell us your phone model.
Can two phones connect at the same time?
Yes. The speaker can stay connected to two phones or computers, but plays audio from one at a time — the device that starts playing last takes over.
What’s the difference between TWS stereo and Party mode?
TWS uses two speakers as the left and right channels. Party mode has several speakers play the same audio to cover a larger area. They are two different modes.
In Party mode, can every speaker request songs?
Yes. When the host requests a song, the other speakers play along. Members can also play their own song — only that speaker stops following, and it rejoins the host’s music once its own song is paused.
How far apart can speakers be in Party mode?
Party mode uses Auracast, with a theoretical maximum range of about 100 m. Actual range depends on placement, walls, trees and the surrounding wireless environment, so keep obstacles to a minimum.
Battery and charging
How long does a full charge last?
About 21 hours at 50% volume, and about 3–3.5 hours at maximum volume (lab data). Actual time varies with volume, audio source, lighting effects, Party mode, ambient temperature and other factors.
Do two 2,600 mAh batteries add up to 5,200 mAh?
No. The two cells are connected in series, making a 7.4 V / 2,600 mAh battery pack. This mainly raises the system voltage and gives the amplifier more headroom.
Do lighting effects and Party mode use more power?
They add some power draw. For longer playback, lower the volume a little, turn off the ambient light when you don’t need it (on the app’s lighting page, or by pressing Power + Party together), or leave Party mode.
microSD card
What size microSD card and which formats are supported?
Cards up to 2 TB have been tested. Supported formats are MP3, WAV, WMA, APE and FLAC at 8–48 kHz, with up to 24-bit for some FLAC and APE files. The microSD card is sold separately.
Water resistance and everyday use
Does IP67 mean it can handle any kind of water?
No. IP67 is tested at room temperature in still fresh water at a depth of 1 m for 30 minutes. Avoid hot water, seawater, chlorinated pool water and high-pressure water jets. After contact with liquid, let it dry completely before charging.
What do the light colors mean?
- A green segment sweeps around once: charger connected; dim green breathing: charging
- A blue segment sweeps around once: Bluetooth connected
- Two blue-violet segments chasing: joining a party; a blue-violet sweep followed by a brief steady glow: joined
- Red flashes twice: couldn’t join, or left the party
